Tom, I like your guiding principles. Especially comments about google searches that may be "tainted" by special interest groups. I believe that we as teachers need to help students realize these things. Your comment about students have to be motivated to want to learn is exactly right. There are alot of distractions once the computer is turned on! I remember the old days of trying to find out information. Tedious and usually outdated. -Wally
I found the process of doing a literature review for my MSSE 505 course much easier with internet accessability. I did the entire search from home. Okay, I did simplify my process by including some sources in books that I already had at home. The point is, being able to get articles on line is a great help for people who can't get to academic libraries easily.
